History
On January 1, 1993, the Lake Bonneville, Cache Valley and Jim Bridger Councils merged to form the Trapper Trails council. Since there were no provisions for the merging of the 3 lodges of the former councils, they continued their separate programs and activities. In September of 1994, at the National Leadership Seminar, held in Logan, UT, the chiefs of the 3 lodges met with the region and national chiefs to develop a plan for the merger. The 3 lodges involved were Twoa-Ba-Cha Lodge 514 - Cache Valley Council, Tantanka Lodge 529 - Jim Bridger Council and Oala Ishadalakalish Lodge 561 from the Lake Bonneville Council.
On January 1, 1996, Oala Ishadalakalish Lodge #561, Tatanka Lodge #529 and Twoa-Ba-Cha Lodge #514 merged to form Awaxaawe' Awachia #535. The name Awaxaawe' Awachia is purported to be of the Crow language and means Mountain Badger; the badger being the lodge totem. The lodge number resulted from adding the numbers of the 3 lodges, divided by 3.
