Ordeal/Brotherhood Ceremonies

Choose an ordeal below.  Please keep a copy of your reciept and bring it to the event registration at the Ordeal.  Once you register, put it on your calendar!

Below is a checklist of what you should bring:

  • Complete Scout Uniform
  • Sleeping bag and pillow
  • Ground cloth or plastic sheeting
  • Canteen or water bottle
  • Flashlight
  • Pocketknife
  • Towel and personal hygiene items
  • Work clothes, shoes, and gloves
  • Sweatshirt or coat, poncho, and hat
  • Medical Form


Check-In: Friday of the Ordeal, you will need to arrive between 6:PM and 7:PM and check-in at the registration table.

Pick-Up: Your ride should plan to arrive by 4:00PM on Saturday. 

Agenda: The Ordeal will consist of activities and campfire program on Friday night. You will be given a place to sleep and placed on "silence" for the 24 hour period. The next day you will be involved in service projects at the camp/Ordeal location. Meals will be provided, and you are not allowed to bring any food.  At the conclusion of the Ordeal, you will attend a final campfire where your sash will be presented and you will be formally inducted as an Ordeal member of the Order of the Arrow. There will be no discrimination or similar activities at the Ordeal. It is a time for you to reflect on your commitment to Scouting and to make some lifetime commitments.
