US Senator visits Wyoming Scouts

November 10, 2017 - B.P.O.Elks Rock Springs Lodge #624 in conjunction with the Wyoming Trails District of the Trapper Trails Council, Boy Scouts of America (BSA) celebrated Americanism, Scouting, and Veterans.
BSA Troop 8 led by Senior Patrol Leader (SPL) Garrett Lowinske, Life Scout, and Scoutmaster Heath Lowinske opened the evening with a procession of the US Flag and all the Elks, US historical flags. The SPL then led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance and State Senator and Reverend Bernadine Craft gave the innvocation.
US Senator Michael Enzi, Veteran and Distinguished Eagle Scout (DES) spoke to a ballroom full of Elks, Veterans and Boy Scouts. Senator Enzi presented every Eagle Scout in attendance with his challenge coin (see below). Past Exalted Ruler (PER), Veteran, and Outstanding Eagle Scout(OES), Stephen P. Allen, was the Master of Ceremonies and presented Senator Enzi with the Elks Grand Lodge Medal of Service.
Senator Enzi was also presented framed patches from the Council that included an Awaxawachia OA Centennial full pocket patch and both "Once and Eagle - Always an Eagle" Trapper Trails shoulder patches. The Elks Lodge also presented every Eagle Scout with a certificate and a miniature American Flag.
A prime rib dinner was served by David Skorup, PER, the closing prayer was given by Rev. Craft, and Troop 8 retired the colors to close the ceremony. The band Free Agents then closed the evening with live music and dancing.
